Powell Golf Design Company was founded in January of 1991 by Lewis C. “Chip” Powell and has dedicated itself to the goal of creating meaningful golf experiences that expose players of all abilities to the type of classic shot making requirements that are the hallmark of all of the world’s greatest golf courses.

In 1996 Powell was joined full time by George J. Eissler, a Landscape Architect with extensive Land Planning experience and expertise. The combined expertise of Powell and Eissler enabled the firm to offer complete turnkey design services from project inception to completion.

Notable projects that the firm is credited with include Duran Golf Club, St. Cloud Golf Club, Belleview Biltmore Golf Club, Florida, Renaissance Golf Club, Scepter Golf Club Pelican Preserve Golf Club, Pelican Sound Golf and River Club, Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club, Hole-In-The-Wall Golf Club, Ocean Reef Club (Hammock and Dolphin Courses) and Venetian Golf and River Club.

The firms practice includes the development of complete community master land use plans, the preparation of detailed golf course routing plans, grading plans, construction specifications, inspection of all phases of golf course construction and the development and execution of master remodeling plans for existing golf courses.
